Chelsea is an energetic and positive wounded healer. She’s transformed her own traumas, trials and tribulations into her passion and life purpose. She lives life to the fullest and does her best to stay grounded and present.
Chelsea was born and raised in the Midwest and moved to Los Angeles after graduating from Western Illinois University with her Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in criminal justice. Her first professional job out of college was working as an executive assistant to an exclusive international matchmaker. Chelsea quickly worked her way up with the company and became the top salesperson, matchmaker, VP of sales and relationship coach. Chelsea’s role with the company helped launch Bravo TV’s hit show, “Millionaire Matchmaker”. Chelsea was a main cast member for the first three seasons of the hit show and she established a legion of fans as second in command at the high-end dating service.
After being with the company for eight years, as hard as it was for her, Chelsea decided to part ways as she needed to spread her wings and fly. Chelsea and her partner at the time opened their own successful matchmaking / relationship coaching business.
As much as Chelsea loves matchmaking and still does it from time to time, she has embarked on a new adventure by getting her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University. Chelsea wants to delve deeper into her clients’ psyche and not only coach and help find them love, but also help them gain insight and awareness into what attributes they are attracted to and how their internal worlds have led them to where they are and who they have become thus far.
During Chelsea’s three-year Master’s program, she could no longer ignore her own unhealthy defense mechanisms and relationship patterns. After a few attempts, Chelsea found a therapist whom she felt safe to open up and be vulnerable with. Chelsea’s therapist helped her process her early childhood trauma and worked with her on her co-dependency struggles.
In May 2016 Chelsea graduated with her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy. Shortly after graduating she came to the realization that “comfort zones are a beautiful place but growth does not happen in them” so she traveled by herself for a year to different parts of the world.
Since graduating, traveling and working on her interdependence, Chelsea has had the privilege of counseling some incredible individuals, couples and families. Chelsea has worked as a school counselor with children as young as four years old all the way up to seniors in high school and as a residential counselor for teens and adults struggling with mental health and/or substance abuse and addiction.
Chelsea resides in Malibu, CA. She enjoys counseling, being in nature, hiking, the ocean, animals, spirituality, exploring new cultures, photography, painting, reading, cooking, adventure and spending quality time with family and friends.
